The Proprietor

Douglas Kean: Started his career in Scotland playing keyboards in a band called Frenzy. Developing an interest in the mechanics of recording he was successfully diverted from his attempt at fame to focus on audio and midi recordng.

Throughout the 80s and 90s he worked for CBS, EMI and Warner Bros record labels and in 1991 formed Interface Management which he ran for eight years. In 1999 he joined the RNIB Talking Books Service as Audio Development Manager. His remit was to convert the service from an analogue audio service to a digital service that used the emerging technology of audio navigation via html. During that time he was also responsible for moving the Talking Books studio facility from Great Portland Street to the ex Classic FM studios in Camden. He continued to manage the 5 SADiE studios at Camden for six years.

In 2005 he decided to extend the home music studio, that he had been developing since his days in the band, to record audio books and set up Interface Voice Studio. In the first five years of business he has recorded over 450 audio titles and provided the music for TV programmes such as the award shows Greatest Britons 2007 (ITV) and Britains Best 2008 (ITV), and the TV programmes Back in the Day (CH4) and The Pyramid Game UK (Challenge TV)
